"Grandma's Cornbread"
Recipe

With many recipes that are out there (and there are many)
Sometimes we have the simplest recipes passed down and they seem to be the
best, Especially when they are passed down from Grandmothers recipes.
And it maybe its that memory of spending time in the kitchen with
"Grandma"  that makes it so good. Its a treasure in it's self.

4 Cups Self-Rising corn meal  / I use Martha White
2 Large eggs
1/2 cup of crisco
1 Tablespoon of bacon drippings
1 cup to 1 1/2 cups whole buttermilk
1 Iron skillet - Medium size / greased with crisco

Mix all your ingredients well and pour into your
greased iron skillet and cook at 400 % until sides
and around top turn crusty brown, about 30
minutes or so, then brown on top.
Bottom will be crusty.

Tip~ Add a pat of butter to a slice and
see how yummy it is.

And remember  "It's not what's on the plates that matters, its what's on the "chairs "
